Common/important tags

there are a lot of tone tags, but you won't need to use them all. it takes a while to memorize even a fraction of the tone tags out there. this page will show and teach you about some of the more 'important' or common tags, as you'd likely use them more than some others. my apologies if this page seems repetitive in it's writing!

/gen and /srs

/gen is used to show whenever something is genuine- for example, if you were giving someone advice or responding to their vent, you might use this tone tag. or if you were responding seriously to something upsetting, but it doesn't really seem genuine without the tone tag. /srs is used to show whenever something is serious- for example, if you were telling someone what happened without wanting to seem like you're joking, you might use this tone tag. or you could use it alongside the genuine tone tag.

/pos, /neg, and /neu

/pos is used to show whenever something is positive or happy- for example, if you responded to someone's art saying it's funky in a good way, you might use this tone tag. /neg is used to show whenever something is negative or bad- for example, if you were using laughing or heart emojis in a negative or sarcastic way, you might use this tone tag. /neu is used to show whenever something is neutral or with no emotion- for example, if you were telling someone how your day went but it wasn't good nor bad, you might use this tone tag.

/p and /r

/p is used to show whenever something is platonic or friendly- for example, if you told your friend you love them, but you don't love them romantically, you might use this tone tag. /r is used to show whenever something is romantic- for example, if you confessed to someone you love romantically, you might use this tone tag (and possibly accompanied with the genuine tone tag!).

/sarc and /j

/sarc is used to show whenever something is sarcastic- for example, if you said your day was great when it wasn't, you might use this tone tag. /j is used to show whenever something is a joke or not serious- for example, if you said something that was not serious and just meant to make people laugh, you might use this tone tag.

/nf and /nm

/nf is used to show whenever something is not forced or just a suggestion- for example, if you told someone to go drink some water but you don't want to seem like you're forcing them, you might use this tone tag. /nm is used to show whenever you're not mad or upset- for example, if you told someone to stop doing something that makes you uncomfortable, but you aren't mad at them for it, you might use this tone tag.

/ref, /lyr, and /q

/ref is used to show whenever you're referencing something- for example, if you made a joke about something that happened in your favorite game, show, etc, you might use this tone tag. /lyr is used to show whenever something is a lyric from a song- for example, if you put a lyric in your social media status, bio, or post, you might use this tone tag. /q is used to show when something is a quote- for example, if one of your friends said something funny and you repeat it to someone else, but you need them to know that those weren't your own words, you might use this tone tag.
